2929 An Act relative to prohibit sex offenders from entering on to public or private school property
3030 for any reason.
3131 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3232 of the same, as follows:
3333 1 Chapter 265 of the M.G.L. shall be amended by adding the following at the end thereof:
3434 2 Section 59. A sex offender, as defined by section 178C of chapter 6, shall not be allowed
3535 3on public or private school property for any reason. Any sex offender who violates this provision
3636 4shall be punished by imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 21/2 years or by
3737 5a fine of $1,000, or by both such fine and imprisonment. A police officer or officer authorized to
3838 6serve criminal process may arrest, without a warrant, any person whom he has probable cause to
3939 7believe has violated this section.
