3030 An Act relative to strengthening the penalty for assault or assault and battery on an emergency
3131 medical technician, ambulance operator, ambulance attendant or health care provider.
3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 SECTION 1. Section 13I of Chapter 265 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2020
3535 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 4, the words "treating or transporting
3636 3a person".
3737 4 SECTION 2. Section 13I of Chapter 265 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2020
3838 5Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 5 and 6, the words "house of
3939 6correction for not less than 90 days nor more than 2 and one-half years or by a fine of not less
4040 7than $500 nor more than $5,000, or both." and inserting in place thereof the following words:
4141 8"state prison for not more than five years, or by imprisonment in a jail or house of correction for
4242 9not more than two and one-half years."
