Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 8A of chapter 278 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph:- 3 If a person using this defense is found not guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, said 4person shall not be liable in civil proceedings for the injury or death of the person unlawfully in 5said dwelling.
