2828 An Act relative to felony threshold for multiple theft offenses.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1: Section 30 of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as amended by Chapter 69
3232 2of the Acts of 2018, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the first paragraph the
3333 3following:-
3434 4 For purpose of this section, multiple violations of either this section or section 30A of this
3535 5chapter occurring within a one hundred eighty day period may be aggregated into a single count
3636 6with the aggregated value of the property stolen used to determine whether the violation is a
3737 7misdemeanor or felony as provided herein. 2 of 2
3838 8 SECTION 2: Section 37B of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as amended by Chapter 69
3939 9of the Acts of 2018, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the first paragraph the
4040 10following:-
4141 11 A series of two or more violations of this section occurring within a one hundred and
4242 12eighty day period may be aggregated into a single count with the aggregated value of money,
4343 13goods, or services obtained used to determine whether the violation is a misdemeanor or felony
4444 14as provided herein.
4545 15 SECTION 3: Section 37C of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as amended by Chapter 69
4646 16of the Acts of 2018, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the first paragraph the
4747 17following:-
4848 18 A series of two or more violations of this section occurring within a one hundred and
4949 19eighty day period may be aggregated into a single count with the aggregated value of money,
5050 20goods, or services obtained used to determine whether the violation is a misdemeanor or felony
5151 21as provided herein.
5252 22 SECTION 4: Section 60 of chapter 266 of the General Laws, as amended by Chapter 69
5353 23of the Acts of 2018, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the first paragraph the
5454 24following:-
5555 25 A series of two or more violations of this section occurring within a one hundred and
5656 26eighty day period may be aggregated into a single count with the aggregated value of property
5757 27obtained used to determine whether the violation is a misdemeanor or felony as provided herein.
