2828 An Act relative to youth soccer referees.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 149 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after
3232 2section 191 the following section:-
3333 3 SECTION 192. A minor of twelve or thirteen years of age may be employed as a youth
3434 4soccer referee for recreational non-results oriented matches for an age bracket younger than the
3535 5minor’s own age; provided, that (1) the employer possesses a written consent from the minor's
3636 6parent or guardian; (2) the employer provides the minor’s parent or guardian with written
3737 7policies describing the responsibilities of a referee; (3) that said employer also provides the
3838 8minor with training before the minor's employment begins; and (4) an adult representing the
3939 9employer is on the premise during the match.
