An Act clarifying the wage act to protect hospital workers from being deprived of their wages.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 148 of Chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 
2official edition, is hereby amended by striking the fifth paragraph in its entirety and inserting 
3instead thereof the following:
4 This section shall not apply to an employee of a co-operative association if he is a 
5shareholder therein, unless he requests such association to pay him weekly, nor to casual 
6employees as hereinbefore defined employed by the commonwealth or by any county, city or 
7town.
