2828 An Act relative to fairness in worker’s compensation disfigurement benefits.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 Section 36(k) of chapter 152 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official
3232 2Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 3, the words "fifteen thousand dollars" and
3333 3inserting in place thereof the following words: 30 times the average weekly wage in the
3434 4Commonwealth as determined pursuant to subsection (a) of section 29 of chapter 151A and by
3535 5striking out in lines 4-6 the words “No amount shall be payable under this section for
3636 6disfigurement that is purely scar-based, unless such disfigurement is on the face, neck or hands.”
