29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 6 of Chapter 94I of the General Laws is hereby amended by |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2deleting after the existing text “This chapter shall not: (i)” the following text:- "require any |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3health insurance provider, or any government agency or authority, to reimburse any person for |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4the expenses of the medical use of marijuana; (ii)” and, by deleting “(iii)” and substituting |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5therefor “(ii)” |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6 SECTION 2. Section 30 of Chapter 152 of the General Laws is hereby amended by |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7inserting, after the text |
---|
38 | 38 | | 8 “Where services are provided to employees under this section, the reasonable and |
---|
39 | 39 | | 9necessary cost of such services shall be paid by the insurer.”, the following text: Such reasonable |
---|
40 | 40 | | 10and necessary service costs may include reimbursement for medical cannabis provided to injured |
---|
41 | 41 | | 11employees who are qualifying patients, or their personal caregiver, certified by a healthcare 2 of 2 |
---|
42 | 42 | | 12professional pursuant to G.L. c. 94I as a qualifying patient, or serving as a qualifying patient's |
---|
43 | 43 | | 13personal caregiver under that chapter. |
