An Act relative to an eight hour work day.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 1A of chapter 151 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018
2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the words “for a work week longer than forty
3hours, unless such employee receives compensation for his employment in excess of forty hours”
4and inserting in place thereof the following: -
5 for a work week longer than forty hours or for a work day longer than eight hours, unless
6such employee receives compensation for his employment in excess of forty hours per week or
7in excess of eight hours per day.
