29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
31 | 31 | | 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary and unless otherwise provided |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2in an employment contract, if any city, town or political subdivision of the commonwealth |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3employs a peace officer and said peace officer is hired by another city, town or political |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4subdivision of the commonwealth within 12 months after completing mandated or formalized |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5training requirements, then the total expense of training, including salary paid during training, |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6shall be reimbursed by the hiring city, town, or political subdivision of the commonwealth to the |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7city, town, or political subdivision of the commonwealth which provided for said peace officer's |
---|
38 | 38 | | 8training. |

39 | 39 | | 9 In order to receive reimbursement, a city, town, or political subdivision of the |
---|
40 | 40 | | 10commonwealth must provide documentation that the peace officer in question signed an |
---|
41 | 41 | | 11acknowledgment of terms or an employment contract specifying the provisions set forth herein. |
