2828 An Act authorizing the city known as the town of Franklin to utilize alternative methods for
2929 notice of public hearings.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 13 of Chapter 4, Section 11 of Chapter 40A of the
3333 2General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the City Known as the Town of
3434 3Franklin (hereinafter “Town”) may utilize alternative means of publishing legal notices for
3535 4public hearings that are required by law.
3636 5 SECTION 2. The Town may permit that all notices of such public hearings shall be
3737 6published on the bulletin board outside the town clerk’s office and either: (i) in a local
3838 7newspaper, in either electronic or paper format, or (ii) on the Town’s website. The term
3939 8“website” shall mean the official website of the Town of Franklin that is operated and
4040 9maintained by the Town’s government.
4141 10 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
