2626 An Act to protect toddlers from lead exposure.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 1A of Chapter 15D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2021
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following definitions:
3131 3 “Lead Service Line” as defined by 40 CFR Part 141.2, as amended.
3232 4 “Lead Service Line Replacement” as defined by 40 CFR Part 141.2, as amended.
3333 5 SECTION 2. Section 8 of Chapter 15D of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2021
3434 6Official Edition, is hereby amended:
3535 7 In Section 8 (a), in line 15, by striking out the word “and” after “financing and
3636 8administration”
3737 9 In Section 8 (a), in line 16, by inserting after the words, “and other sanctions” the
3838 10following phrase: “;and (12) the elimination of exposure to lead through lead service lines in
3939 11family child care homes or large family child care homes” 2 of 2
4040 12 In Section 8 (c), in in line 8, by inserting after the word, “fire” the following word “,
4141 13lead,”
4242 14 In Section 8 (c), by adding the following subsection:
4343 15 (i) The regulations, as they relate to lead exposure, shall include, but not be limited to,
4444 16appropriate standards for: lead service line and lead paint inspection, disclosure, removal, and
4545 17replacement.
