| 30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, |

| 31 | 31 | | 2is hereby amended by inserting after section 51K the following new section: |

| 32 | 32 | | 3 Section 51L. The department shall promulgate all rules and regulations necessary |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 4regarding the definition of and licensing procedures for urgent care centers; provided, that the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 5new rules and regulations ensure residents enrolled in MassHealth shall not require a referral |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 6from a primary care provider, as defined in section 1, to obtain services or care from an urgent |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 7care center. |
