The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act enabling trained dental hygienists to administer dermal fillers and botox. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Section 51 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first instance of the words “adopted by 3the board,” the following: 4 “A dental hygienist, under the direct supervision of a supervising dentist, may administer 5botulinum toxins and or dermal fillers, provided they have received the same prescribed 6additional training in the administration of botulinum toxins and or dermal fillers as that of a 7dentist and approved by the board. A dental hygienist shall not administer botulinum toxins and 8or dermal fillers independently of a dentist.”
