29 | 29 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |
---|
30 | 30 | | provide forthwith critical incident intervention services for emergency service providers, |
---|
31 | 31 | | therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation |
---|
32 | 32 | | of the public convenience. |
---|
33 | 33 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
34 | 34 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
35 | 35 | | 1 Section 1: Chapter 233, Section 20N(a) of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby |
---|
36 | 36 | | 2amended by striking out the definition “Emergency Service Provider” and inserting in place |
---|
37 | 37 | | 3thereof the following definition:- “Emergency service provider”, an active or retired law |
---|
38 | 38 | | 4enforcement officer, police officer, state police trooper, sheriff or deputy sheriff, firefighter, state |
---|
39 | 39 | | 5or municipal police criminalist, crime scene personnel, police dispatcher or 911 operator, or |
---|
40 | 40 | | 6emergency medical personnel. |
