2828 An Act relative to the reckless discharge of firearms.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 265 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition,
3232 2is hereby amended by adding the following new section:
3333 3 Section 15G. Whoever without regard for the risk of serious bodily injury to another
3434 4intentionally or recklessly discharges a firearm, large capacity weapon, rifle, shotgun, sawed-off
3535 5shotgun, or machine gun and thereby causes a substantial risk of serious bodily injury to another
3636 6shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for not more than 5 years or by
3737 7imprisonment in the house of correction for not more than 2 ½ years.
