| 29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 140 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 2following section:- |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 3 Section 207. (a) Whoever possess, carries, or owns a firearm, rifle or shotgun without a |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 4liability policy or bond or deposit required by the provisions of this chapter which has not been |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 5provided and maintained in accordance therewith shall be punished by a fine of not less than five |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 6hundred nor more than five thousand dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year in a |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 7house of correction, or both such fine and imprisonment. This section shall not apply to a person |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 8who possesses a firearm, rifle, or shotgun on a temporary basis while on the premises of a |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 9licensed gun club. 2 of 2 |

| 40 | 40 | | 10 (b) The commissioner of insurance shall promulgate regulations set forth for the |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 11minimum terms of liability insurance policies which shall satisfy the requirements of this section. |
