2626 An Act relative to POST certified law enforcement officers.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 Chapter 253 of the Acts of 2020, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting the
3030 2following paragraph under Chapter 6E Section 1:
3131 3 “All law enforcement officers employed by a law enforcement agency as defined in
3232 4Chapter 6E section 1 shall have all the powers and authorities of police officers. Wherever
3333 5“police officer” appears in the Massachusetts General Laws as providing legal authority to
3434 6“police officers” to engage in law enforcement efforts, that definition shall include all officers
3535 7who have been POST certified from any law enforcement agency defined in Chapter 6E section
3636 81.”
