3030 An Act exempting all positions in the police department of the town of Montague from the civil
3131 service law.
3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, all positions in
3535 2the police department of the town of Montague shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General
3636 3Laws.
3737 4 SECTION 2. This act shall not impair the civil service status of a person holding a
3838 5position described in section 1 on the effective date of this act.
3939 6 SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2, no appointments or
4040 7promotions made after the effective date of this act will be governed in any way by chapter 31 of
4141 8the General Laws. 2 of 2
4242 9 SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
