27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

29 | 29 | | 1 Paragraph (g) of clause (2) of section 3 of chapter 32, as appearing in the 2020 Official |

30 | 30 | | 2Edition, is hereby amended, in line 248, by inserting the following:- |

31 | 31 | | 3 Any member of the Massachusetts State Police or of a local municipal police department, |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4who has previous public safety experience as a member of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5Authority police department, shall be eligible to count creditable years of service in the |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6Commonwealth to the local or state retirement system; provided that said police officer shall be |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7required to pay into the annuity savings fund of the retirement system in one sum, or in |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8installments, upon conditions as the retirement board or authority shall prescribe, an amount |
---|
37 | 37 | | 9equal to the accumulated regular deductions otherwise payable by the officer had they been an |
---|
38 | 38 | | 10active member in the Massachusetts State Police or local police department at the time of the |
---|
39 | 39 | | 11aforesaid employment, together with regular interest thereon up to his first day of employment in |
---|
40 | 40 | | 12a local police department or in the Massachusetts State Police. |
