32 | 32 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |

33 | 33 | | make forthwith certain retirement benefits available, therefore it is hereby declared to be an |

34 | 34 | | emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience. |

35 | 35 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

36 | 36 | | of the same, as follows: |

37 | 37 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia |

38 | 38 | | 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is |

39 | 39 | | 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated |
---|
40 | 40 | | 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance |
---|
41 | 41 | | 5shall be equal to the retirement allowance received by John Bernard O’Connor. 2 of 2 |

42 | 42 | | 6 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in |

43 | 43 | | 7section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor. |
