3030 An Act relative to certain retirement benefits for the surviving spouse of a state police officer
3131 injured in the line of duty.
3232 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
3333 make forthwith certain retirement benefits available, therefore it is hereby declared to be an
3434 emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
3535 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3636 of the same, as follows:
3737 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia
3838 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is
3939 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated
4040 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance
4141 5shall be equal to the retirement allowance received by John Bernard O’Connor. 2 of 2
4242 6 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in
4343 7section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor.
