30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |

32 | 32 | | 1 Section 1. Pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between the Town of East |
---|
33 | 33 | | 2Longmeadow and the East Longmeadow Police Officers Union, the positions of police officer, |
---|
34 | 34 | | 3sergeant and lieutenant in the East Longmeadow Police Department shall be exempt from the |
---|
35 | 35 | | 4provisions of Chapter 31 of the Massachusetts General Laws and related regulations applicable |
---|
36 | 36 | | 5thereto. However, the foregoing exemption shall not impair the civil service status of the present |
---|
37 | 37 | | 6employees of the East Longmeadow Police Department except for the purpose of promotion. |

38 | 38 | | 7 Section 2. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, each incumbent |
---|
39 | 39 | | 8employee who has the present status of permanent civil service employee in their present 2 of 2 |
