2929 Proposal for a legislative amendment to the Constitution for a Constitutional right to health care.
3030 A majority of all the members elected to the Senate and House of Representatives, in
3131 joint session, hereby declares it to be expedient to alter the Constitution by the adoption of the
3232 following Article of Amendment, to the end that it may become a part of the Constitution [if
3333 similarly agreed to in a joint session of the next General Court and approved by the people at the
3434 state election next following]:
3535 ARTICLE OF AMENDMENT.
3636 1 ARTICLE OF AMENDMENT.
3737 2 1.) The Constitution of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is hereby, and thus
3838 3amended, to provide that:
3939 4 Each, and every inhabitant of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, has a Right to
4040 5Health Care.
4141 6 2.) The provision of this Right, with equality for all individuals, shall be subject to
4242 7appropriate legislation by the Great and General Court. 2 of 2
4343 8 The roles, and decision-making of all personal physicians, hospital physicians, and all
4444 9other medical personnel, who are appropriately involved in the care of any individual, shall be
4545 10respected, according to all appropriate medical standards, laws, and regulations.
