27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 6 of chapter 64H of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 |
---|
30 | 30 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out paragraph (u) and inserting in place thereof |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3the following paragraph:- |

32 | 32 | | 4 (u) Sale of a motor vehicle purchased by and for the use of a person who has suffered |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5loss, or permanent loss of use of, both legs or both arms or one leg and one arm or by and for the |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6use of a veteran who has been determined to be permanently disabled by the medical advisory |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7board established under section 8C of chapter 90 and has been issued a disabled veteran number |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8plate or the special parking identification placard for handicapped individuals authorized under |
---|
37 | 37 | | 9section 2 of said chapter 90. This exemption shall apply to one motor vehicle only owned and |
---|
38 | 38 | | 10registered for the personal, noncommercial use of such person. 2 of 2 |

39 | 39 | | 11 SECTION 2. Section 33 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby |

40 | 40 | | 12amended by striking out subdivision (29) and inserting in place thereof the following |

42 | 42 | | 14 (29) No fee shall be exacted for the registration of any vehicle owned by a veteran who is |

43 | 43 | | 15entitled to display thereon the distinctive number plates for disabled veterans or the special |

44 | 44 | | 16parking identification placard for handicapped individuals authorized by section 2. No fee shall |
---|
45 | 45 | | 17be exacted for the issuance to such veterans of a license to operate such vehicle. |
