2626 An Act relative to commuter transit benefits.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 3 of Chapter 62 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15) of subsection (b), by striking the
3131 3words “weekly or monthly transit commuter passes for Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority
3232 4transit, bus, commuter rail or commuter boat” and inserting in its place the following words:- any
3333 5bikeshare membership fee, Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority or regional transit authority fare
3434 6 SECTION 2. Said section 3 of said chapter 62 is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15)
3535 7of subsection (b), by striking the figure “$150” each time it appears and inserting in place thereof
3636 8the following figure:- $50
3737 9 SECTION 3. Said section 3 of said chapter 62 is hereby amended, in subparagraph (15)
3838 10of subsection (b), by inserting, after the word “otherwise.”, the following sentence:- For purposes
3939 11of this subsection, "fare" is defined as any payment for a single trip, multiple trips or unlimited
4040 12trips in a set time period on public transit
