| 31 | 31 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 36A of Chapter 30 of the General Laws is hereby amended by |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 2inserting at the end of the first paragraph the following new paragraph:— |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 3 Any state motor vehicle or a motor vehicle owned by a state authority, including |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 4construction and snow removal equipment, that has been determined to be surplus property and |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 5no longer useable by the Commonwealth shall be offered at sale or auction to the cities and |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 6towns of the Commonwealth. The Executive Office of Administration and Finance shall |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 7promulgate rules and regulations that establish guidelines for such sales and auctions including |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 8but not limited to notice payment, delivery and liability. Any motor vehicle that is not sold or |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | 9auctioned off in this manner may then be made available to the general public for sale and/or 2 of 2 |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | 10auction. For the purpose of this section, motor vehicle shall be defined as any vehicle constructed |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | 11and designed for propulsion by power other than muscular strength including any such vehicles |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | 12pulled or towed by another motor vehicle. |
