2626 An Act relative to technical changes in chapter 30B.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2828 of the same, as follows:
2929 1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 30B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3030 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 10 and 11, and in lines 134 and 135,
3131 3the words “thirty-eight A1/2 to thirty-eight O, inclusive, of chapter seven” and inserting in place
3232 4thereof, in each instance, the following words:- 44 to 57, inclusive, of chapter 7C.
3333 5 SECTION 2. Subsection (b) of said section 1 of said chapter 30B, as so appearing, is
3434 6hereby amended by striking out clause (5), as so appearing, and inserting in place thereof the
3535 7following clause:-
3636 8 (5) a contract for the purchase of materials under specifications of the division of
3737 9highways in the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and at prices established by the
3838 10division, pursuant to advertising and bidding for such purpose, in connection with work to be
3939 11performed under chapter 81 or chapter 90; 2 of 2
4040 12 SECTION 3. Said section 1 of said chapter 30B, as so appearing, is hereby further
4141 13amended by striking out, in line 109, as so appearing, the words “subclause (r)” and inserting in
4242 14place thereof the following words:- subclause (s).
4343 15 SECTION 4. Section 5 of said chapter 30B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
4444 16striking out, in lines 64 to 66, inclusive, as so appearing, the words “the provisions of section
4545 17eleven A 1/2 of chapter thirty A, section nine G of chapter thirty-four or section twenty-three B
4646 18of chapter thirty-nine” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- sections 18 to 25,
4747 19inclusive, of chapter 30A.
4848 20 SECTION 5. Section 16 of said chapter 30B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
4949 21striking out, in line 46, the words “forty J of chapter seven” and inserting in place thereof the
5050 22following words:- 38 of chapter 7C.
5151 23 SECTION 6. Section 18 of said chapter 30B, as so appearing, is hereby amended by
5252 24striking out the definition of “Disadvantaged vendor” and inserting in place thereof the following
5353 25definition:-
5454 26 “Disadvantaged vendor”, a business beneficially owned by at least 1 minority person as
5555 27provided in the definition of “Minority-owned business” in subsection (b) of section 6 of chapter
5656 287C and any business beneficially owned by at least 1 woman as provided in the definition of
5757 29“Women-owned business” in said subsection (b) of said section 6 of said chapter 7C.
5858 30 SECTION 7. Section 23 of said chapter 30B is hereby repealed.
