| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the last paragraph, in line 663, the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3following paragraph:- |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4 “The registrar, pursuant to its authority established under this section, shall furnish upon |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5approval of an application by the registry to a justice or retired justice of the supreme judicial |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6court, appeals court or trial court a confidential registration plate for use upon the private |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7passenger vehicle registered to that individual. If the registrar denies an application for issuance |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8of a confidential registration plate for said entities, the registrar shall provide the applicant with |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9(i) a letter detailing the reasons for denial of the application; (ii) instructions on how to submit an |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10appeal of the decision regarding the denial of the application; and (iii) an explanation of the |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 11appeals process.”. |
