An Act relative to distinctive registration plates for veterans’ spouses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Section 2 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is 
2hereby amended by deleting paragraph 16 and inserting the following:
3 The registrar shall furnish, upon application, to owners of private passenger motor 
4vehicles and motorcycles who are veterans or a spouse of a veteran, as defined in clause Forty-
5third of section 7 of chapter 4 and upon presentation of evidence deemed satisfactory by the 
6registrar, distinctive registration plates bearing on the left side the word "VETERAN''. These 
7plates shall also include a distinctive emblem or decal for those individuals who are a veteran 
8spouse or those who have been awarded the Iraqi Freedom Campaign Ribbon or who served in 
9Operation Enduring Freedom. There shall be an annual $20 fee for such "VETERAN'' plates in 
10addition to the established registration fee for private passenger motor vehicles and motorcycles. 
11For the purposes of this paragraph, the word "motorcycles'' shall not include motorized bicycles.
