| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 6B of chapter 115 of the General Laws is hereby amended by |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2striking out the third paragraph, and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:- |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3 The parents and surviving spouse, provided that surviving spouse does not remarry, of a |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4deceased member of the armed forces of the United States, who sustained an injury or contracted |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5a disease during active service in time of war or insurrection or combat, who is entitled to |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6dependency and indemnity compensation from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7shall be paid the sum of $3,000 annually in two equal payments on August 1 and February 1. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8Such payments shall be due and payable from the date of said parents’ and surviving spouses’ |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9application. |
|---|
