3030 An Act exempting all future members of the police department of the town of Great Barrington
3131 from the civil service law.
3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, all future
3535 2members of the police department of the town of Great Barrington shall be exempt from chapter
3636 331 of the General Laws.
3737 4 SECTION 2. This act shall not impair the civil service status of a person holding a
3838 5position described in section 1 on the effective date of this act.
3939 6 SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2, no appointments or
4040 7promotions made after the effective date of this act will be governed in any way by chapter 31 of
4141 8the General Laws.
4242 9 SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
