town of Avon be authorized to amend the by-laws of said town to change the name of the board
of selectmen to select board in said town. Municipalities and Regional Government. [Local

An Act amending the town of Avon’s by-laws.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 Notwithstanding sections 21 and 40 of the General Laws, section 5 of chapter 40A of the
2General Laws or any general or special law to the contrary, the select board of the town of Avon
3may amend the zoning by-laws and regulations of the town by majority vote to revise all
4references to the board of selectmen and its members to select board and select board members,
5respectively.
