An Act amending the membership of the Housing Commission in the town of Lincoln.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Chapter 359 of the acts of 1979, authorizing establishment of a housing 
2commission in the town of Lincoln, is hereby amended by striking section 2 in its entirety and 
3inserting in place thereof the following section:
4 SECTION 2. There shall be a commission, to be known as the Lincoln housing 
5commission, to carry out the purposes of this act. Membership on the commission shall be 
6restricted to residents of Lincoln. With respect to the organization of the commission and the 
7selection of its members, the following provisions shall apply:
8 (1)The Select Board shall appoint 7 members of the commission for staggered terms 
9of 3 years; provided, however, that the town may, by bylaw, (a) decrease the membership to 5, 
10whether through attrition or by terminating the terms of the 2 members with the shortest time left 
11in their then-current appointment, or b) increase the membership back to 7. The Select Board  2 of 2
12shall also adjust the terms of any new appointees so that the terms of no more than 3 members 
13expire in any given year.
14 (2)The Select Board shall endeavor to have two of the appointed positions include a) 
15a resident selected to represent the Council on Aging and Human Services (COA & HS), and b) a 
16resident currently living in low-income housing, or low or moderate income senior housing, or 
17moderate income housing, as such terms are defined by section 2 of chapter 44B of the general 
18laws.
19 SECTION 2. An incumbent member of the commission holding office as of the effective 
20date of this act shall continue to serve for the remainder of their unexpired term or sooner 
21resignation; thereafter, appointments to the commission shall be made pursuant to chapter 359 of 
22the acts of 1979 as revised. 
23 SECTION 3. Chapter 127 of the acts of 1990 	is hereby repealed. 
24 SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
