3030 An Act authorizing the town of West Stockbridge to continue the employment of Steven Traver
3131 as fire chief.
3232 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3333 of the same, as follows:
3434 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Steven Traver,
3535 2chief of the fire department of the town of West Stockbridge, may continue to serve in his
3636 3position, subject to approval by the select board of the town of West Stockbridge, until June 30,
3737 42025, the date of his retirement or the select board votes not to reappoint him to his position,
3838 5whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of
3939 6performing the duties of his position. The select board may require that Steven Traver be
4040 7examined by an impartial physician designated by the select board to determine his mental and
4141 8physical capability. Deductions shall continue to be made from the regular compensation of
4242 9Steven Traver under chapter 32 of the General Laws, while he is employed as chief of the fire
4343 10department of the town of West Stockbridge in accordance with all applicable laws.
4444 11 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
