2828 An Act granting the town of Southborough the authority to provide legal voting rights in
2929 municipal elections for town of Southborough residents aged 17 years old.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 1 of chapter 51 of the General Laws or any other
3333 2general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, any individual aged 17 years old
3434 3residing in the town of Southborough, who is ineligible to vote due to age under state law, but
3535 4who is otherwise eligible to vote under state law, may upon application have their name entered
3636 5on a list of voters. Such individuals on the list of voters may vote in any election for municipal
3737 6offices and municipal ballot questions in accordance with this act.
3838 7 SECTION 2. The town of Southborough may pass ordinances to implement this act,
3939 8subject to the charter of the town of Southborough.
4040 9 SECTION 3. Nothing in this act shall be construed to confer upon voters in the town of
4141 10Southborough the right to vote for any state or federal office or any state or federal ballot
4242 11questions.
