| 30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Joseph Holway, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 2Chief of the Fire Department of the Town of North Brookfield, and David Martin, Captain of the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 3Fire Department of the Town of North Brookfield may continue to serve in such position until |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 4the date of their retirement, or until the date they are relieved of their duties by the Board of |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 5Selectmen of the Town, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that Joseph Holway and |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 6David Martin are mentally and physically capable of performing the essential duties of the |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 7office; and provided further, that the Board of Selectmen of the Town may, at its own expense, |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 8require that Joseph Holway and David Martin be examined by an impartial physician designated |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | 9by the board to such capability. |

| 41 | 41 | | 10 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. Or take any action relative |
