30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
32 | 32 | | 1 SECTION 1: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, within the town |
---|
33 | 33 | | 2of Wrentham, the positions of regular and permanent members of the fire department, persons |
---|
34 | 34 | | 3holding the titles of fulltime firefighter, captain, and deputy fire chief of the fire department, of |
---|
35 | 35 | | 4the town of Wrentham shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General Laws ("Civil service law). |
---|
36 | 36 | | 5 SECTION 2: Section 1 of this act shall not impair the civil service status of any person |
---|
37 | 37 | | 6holding the positions of regular and permanent members of the fire department, persons holding |
---|
38 | 38 | | 7the titles of full-time firefighter, captain, and deputy fire chief of the fire department, of the town |
---|
39 | 39 | | 8of Wrentham on the effective date of this act. |
---|
40 | 40 | | 9 SECTION 3: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Wrentham |
---|
41 | 41 | | 10Board of Selectmen are further authorized to take any and all other action necessary or advisable |
---|
42 | 42 | | 11to remove the positions of regular and permanent members of the fire department, persons 2 of 2 |

43 | 43 | | 12holding the titles of full-time firefighter, captain, and deputy fire chief of the fire department, in |
---|
44 | 44 | | 13the town of Wrentham from the requirements of the Civil service law. |

45 | 45 | | 14 SECTION 4: That the General Court may make clerical or editorial changes of form only |

46 | 46 | | 15to the bill, unless the Board of Selectmen approve amendments to the bill before enactment by |
---|
47 | 47 | | 16the General Court, and provided further that the Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to |
---|
48 | 48 | | 17approve amendments which shall be within the scope of the general public objectives of this |
---|
49 | 49 | | 18petition. |

50 | 50 | | 19 SECTION 5. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
