2020 An Act authorizing the town of Richmond to continue the employment of Steven Traver as fire
2121 chief.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2323 of the same, as follows:
2424 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Steven Traver,
2525 2chief of the fire department of the town of Richmond, may continue to serve in his position,
2626 3subject to approval by the select board of the town of Richmond, until December 31, 2024, the
2727 4date of his retirement or until the select board votes not to reappoint him to this position,
2828 5whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of
2929 6performing the duties of his position. The select board may require that Steven Traver be
3030 7examined by an impartial physician designated by the select board to determine his mental and
3131 8physical capability. Deductions shall continue to be made from the regular compensation of
3232 9Steven Traver under chapter 32 of the General Laws, while he is employed as chief of the fire
3333 10department of the town of Richmond in accordance with all applicable laws.
3434 11 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
