By Representative Cabral of New Bedford, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4201) of 
Antonio F. D. Cabral, Mark C. Montigny and Christopher Hendricks (with the approval of the 
mayor and city council) that the city of New Bedford be authorized to employ a non-resident as 
the administrative assistant to the board of assessors of said city. Municipalities and Regional 
Government. [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the administrative assistant to the board of assessors of the city of New 
Bedford to be a non-resident.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Chapter 5 of the Acts of 1990, or any general or special 
2law to the contrary, the Administrative Assistant to the Board of Assessors of the City of New 
3Bedford may be a non-resident of the City of New Bedford.
4 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
