2828 An Act increasing the age limit for the appointment of special police officers in the city of
2929 Springfield.
3030 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3131 of the same, as follows:
3232 1 SECTION 1. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers
3333 2within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of
3434 32018, shall not be subject to the same maximum age restrictions as applied to regular police
3535 4officers in the City of Springfield pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws.

3737 6 SECTION 2. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers
3838 7within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of
3939 82018, shall be subject to a maximum age restriction of seventy (70) years old.

4141 10 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
