An Act to promote social-emotional learning.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1: Section 38G of chapter 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing 
2in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “styles,” in line 251, 
3the following words:- “strategies to develop students’ social-emotional learning competencies, 
4including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible 
5decision-making,”
6 SECTION 2: Section 38G of chapter 71 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as appearing 
7in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “styles,” in line 287, 
8the following words:- “strategies to develop students’ social-emotional learning competencies, 
9including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible 
10decision-making,”
