2020 An Act relative to certain retirement benefits for the surviving spouse of a state police officer
2121 injured in the line of duty.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2323 of the same, as follows:
2424 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia
2525 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is
2626 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated
2727 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance
2828 5shall be equal to that which she would have received had John Bernard O’Connor been allowed
2929 6to elect the Option C retirement allowance prior to his death.
3030 7 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in
3131 8section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor.
