| 24 | 24 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding and general or special law to the contrary, Felicia |

| 25 | 25 | | 2O’Connor, the surviving spouse of John Bernard O’Connor, a retired state police officer, who is |

| 26 | 26 | | 3currently receiving a surviving spouse retirement allowance, shall be entitled to a recalculated |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 4surviving spouse retirement allowance. The recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 5shall be equal to that which she would have received had John Bernard O’Connor been allowed |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 6to elect the Option C retirement allowance prior to his death. |

| 30 | 30 | | 7 SECTION 2. The amount of the recalculated surviving spouse retirement allowance in |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 8section 1 shall apply retroactively to the date of death of John Bernard O’Connor. |
