2727 An Act to promote the inclusion of American Sign Language in the Commonwealth’s public

2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 Section 1. Section 2B of Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3232 2Official Edition is hereby amended by, in line 8, striking out the word “may” and in place
3333 3thereof, inserting the word “shall.”
3434 4 Section 2. Section 2B of Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020
3535 5Official Edition is hereby amended by inserting, after the word “society” in line 8 the following:-
3636 6“As many children with autism have been able to learn and communicate successfully via sign
3737 7language because it is visually based, unaided, and provides a mode of quick communication.”
