| 23 | 23 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

| 24 | 24 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 25 | 25 | | 1 SECTION 1. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 2within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 32018, shall not be subject to the same maximum age restrictions as applied to regular police |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 4officers in the City of Springfield pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws. |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 5 SECTION 2. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 6within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 72018, shall be subject to a maximum age restriction of seventy (70) years old. No further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 8deductions pursuant to Chapter 32 of the General Laws shall be made from the regular |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 9compensation of Special Police Officers appointed under this Act subsequent to their reaching |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 10the age of 65. |

| 35 | 35 | | 11 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
