2121 An Act increasing the age limit for the appointment of special police officers in the city of
2222 Springfield.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2424 of the same, as follows:
2525 1 SECTION 1. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers
2626 2within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of
2727 32018, shall not be subject to the same maximum age restrictions as applied to regular police
2828 4officers in the City of Springfield pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws.
2929 5 SECTION 2. Retired police officers who have been appointed as Special Police Officers
3030 6within the City of Springfield under the authority provided through Chapter 133 of the Acts of
3131 72018, shall be subject to a maximum age restriction of seventy (70) years old. No further
3232 8deductions pursuant to Chapter 32 of the General Laws shall be made from the regular
3333 9compensation of Special Police Officers appointed under this Act subsequent to their reaching
3434 10the age of 65.
3535 11 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
