| 20 | 20 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | prohibit license revocation for student loan default, therefore it is hereby declared to be an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience. |

| 23 | 23 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 13 of chapter 30A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the last paragraph and inserting in place |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 3thereof the following paragraph:- |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 4 No board of registration operating pursuant to chapter 112 or agency shall deny issuance |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 5of, revoke or refuse to renew any professional or occupational certificate, registration, license or |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 6authority of an individual based on the individual’s default on an educational loan. This |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 7paragraph shall not apply to the division of banks. |

| 32 | 32 | | 8 SECTION 2. Section 61 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby |

| 33 | 33 | | 9amended by striking out the fifth paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following |
