1919 An Act prohibiting license revocation for student loan default.
2020 Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to
2121 prohibit license revocation for student loan default, therefore it is hereby declared to be an
2222 emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2424 of the same, as follows:
2525 1 SECTION 1. Section 13 of chapter 30A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022
2626 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the last paragraph and inserting in place
2727 3thereof the following paragraph:-
2828 4 No board of registration operating pursuant to chapter 112 or agency shall deny issuance
2929 5of, revoke or refuse to renew any professional or occupational certificate, registration, license or
3030 6authority of an individual based on the individual’s default on an educational loan. This
3131 7paragraph shall not apply to the division of banks.
3232 8 SECTION 2. Section 61 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby
3333 9amended by striking out the fifth paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following
3434 10paragraph:- 2 of 2
3535 11 No board of registration operating pursuant to this chapter or agency shall deny issuance
3636 12of, revoke or refuse to renew any professional or occupational certificate, registration, license or
3737 13authority of an individual based on the individual’s default on an educational loan.
