By striking out all after the enacting clause and inserting in place thereof the following:–
1 SECTION 1. Section 1-2 of the charter of the town of Marshfield, which is on file in the
2office of the archivist of the commonwealth, as provided in section 12 of chapter 43B of the
3General Laws, is hereby amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen” and inserting
4in place thereof the following words:- select board.
5 SECTION 2. Section 2-4 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words
6“Board of Selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place thereof, in each instance, the
7following words:- select board.
8 SECTION 3. Section 3-1 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the words
9“board of selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- select board.
10 SECTION 4. Subsection 3-2-1 of section 3-2 of said charter is hereby amended by
11striking out the caption and inserting in place thereof the following caption:- Select Board.
12 SECTION 5. Said subsection 3-2-1 of said section 3-2 of said charter is hereby further
13amended by striking out the words “board of selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in

15 SECTION 6. Said subsection 3-2-1 of said section 3-2 of said charter is hereby further
16amended by striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the
17following words:- select board.
18 SECTION 7. Said subsection 3-2-1 of said section 3-2 of said charter is hereby further
19amended by striking out the words “The selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following
20words:- The select board.
21 SECTION 8. Said subsection 3-2-1 of said section 3-2 of said charter is hereby further
22amended by striking out the words “the selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following

24 SECTION 9. Said subsection 3-2-1 of said section 3-2 of said charter is hereby further
25amended by striking out the words “the Selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place

28striking out the words “the selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- the

30 SECTION 11. Section 3-3 of said charter is hereby amended by striking out the word

32 SECTION 12. Subsection 4-1-1 of section 4-1 of said charter is hereby amended by
33striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

43amended by striking out the words “the selectmen”, each time they appear, and inserting in place
44thereof, in each instance, the following words:- the select board.
45 SECTION 16. Paragraph (H) of said subsection 4-1-1 of said section 4-1 of said charter is
46hereby amended by striking out the words “by selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the
47following words:- by the select board.
48 SECTION 17. Subsection 4-1-2 of said section 4-1 of said charter is hereby amended by
49striking out the words “Board of Selectmen” and inserting in place thereof the following words:-

86 SECTION 30. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
