By Representative Consalvo of Boston, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 5054) of 
Rob Consalvo (with the approval of the mayor and city council) that the city of Boston be 
authorized to appoint Alex Guzman a police officer in said city notwithstanding the maximum 
age requirement. Public Service. [Local Approval Received.]

An Act directing the city of Boston Police Department to waive the maximum age requirement 
for police officers for Alex Guzman.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, including the 
2provisions of Chapter 43 of the Acts of 2007, the City of Boston Police Department shall waive 
3the maximum age requirement for original appointment of police officers for Alex Guzman. If 
4Alex Guzman meets all other requirements set forth by the Boston Police Department, he shall 
5be eligible to have his name certified for original appointment to the position of police officer.
6 SECTION 2. The provisions of this act are severable and if any provision, or portion 
7thereof, should be held to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid by any court of competent 
8jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions, 
9which remain in full force and effect.
10 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
