| 20 | 20 | | Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | establish forthwith a sick leave bank for a certain employee of the Department of Correction, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of the public convenience. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 1 Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Department of Correction |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 2shall establish a sick leave bank for Stephen Brophy, an employee of the Department. Any |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 3employee of the Department may voluntarily contribute 1 or more sick, personal or vacation |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 4days to the sick leave bank for use by Stephen Brophy. If Stephen Brophy terminates |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 5employment with the Department or requests to dissolve the sick leave bank, any remaining time |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 6in the sick leave bank shall be transferred to the extended illness leave bank. Sick leave bank |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 7days shall not be used for absences unrelated to the illness or disability that necessitated the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 8establishment of the sick leave bank as determined by the Department. |
