| 16 | 16 | | filing for your consideration the attached legislation entitled An Act relative to further regulating |

| 17 | 17 | | a certain alcoholic beverage license in the town of Southampton. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | At the request of the Town of Southampton’s Select Board, I am filing this special |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | legislation to extend the deadline by which the Town may issue a liquor license to a particular |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | small, family-owned business located within the Town. Chapter 299 of the Acts of 2022 |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | permitted Southampton to grant a license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages not to be drunk |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | on the premises to the business, Pure Food Market Inc., by no later than December 13, 2023. I |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | understand that, due to an administrative oversight, the license was not granted to the business by |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | that deadline. This legislation will provide the Town additional time to grant the license to the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | business by extending the statutory deadline from December 13, 2023 to December 13, 2025. |

| 39 | 39 | | 1 SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 299 of the acts of 2022 is hereby amended by striking |

| 40 | 40 | | 2out in subsection (d) the words “1 year” and inserting in place thereof the following words:- “3 |
