| 26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 1 SECTION 1. Chapter 75 of the Acts of 2008 is hereby amended by striking out the words |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 2“wines and malt”, and inserting in place thereof the following:- all alcoholic . |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 3 SECTION 2. (a) The city of Salem may charge a fee for the conversion of the license |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 4authorized and described in section 1 which shall be paid by the current licensee at the time of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 5enactment unless the licensing authority agrees to enter into a contract with the licensee to allow |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 6the division of the fee into multiple payments over time from the licensee. If the city elects to |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 7accept multiple payments over time from the licensee, the option shall be made available, upon |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 8request, to all qualified applicants for a license. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 9 (b) Any fee collected by the city of Salem for the license converted pursuant to section 1 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 10which is greater than the amount of the fee charged for an annual renewal of a similar license |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 11issued by the city shall be deposited into the city’s economic development account and expended |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | 12by it in a manner consistent with the purpose of such account. 2 of 2 |

| 40 | 40 | | 13 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
